Norwegian strategy for ICT research

During the Spring of 2009 the Norwegian government began a process to prepare a national strategy for ICT research. This was spurred by a Report to the Norwegian parliament entitled ” An information society for all” that recommended increased ICT Research on a broad basis. The new national strategy will position and strengthen the Norwegian ICT research internationally and address the research needs of upcoming important societal global challenges. Representatives from five Ministries and the Research Council of Norway have been given the mandate to develop this strategy with a deadline of May 15th 2010.” Preliminary results of the strategy work will be presented.
