What is GoOpen?

GoOpen is a publicly-funded conference about using Free and Open Source Software for sharing, reuse and cooperation in the Norwegian public sector. The conference is held in Oslo, Norway every year around spring time.

GoOpen targets decision makers within the public sector, politicians, IT professionals, students, and the press. In 2011 we had a total of more than 900 participants from Norway and the other Nordic countries to take part in the conference’s keynotes, five parallel tracks, break-out sessions and social events. Most of the content is in Norwegian, but with plenty of activity in English.

The 2011 conference was the 4th since 2008. Earlier conferences have attracted guests from all kinds of businesses and communities, including Allison Randal, Simon Phipps, Zak Greant, Chris DiBona, Håkon Wium Lie, Jon «maddog» Hall, Larry Wall and many others.

The conference is organized by the Norwegian Open Source Competence Center. Please contact us via our contact form or via phone at +47 2104 3435 for further information about GoOpen or the Norwegian Open Source Competence Center.
